Rejected but confused: How to Ask, "Why?"

Today, after being told I wasn't selected for yet another job offer (I write that like I've been rejected for a million, but that's not true), I went online to learn how to word an email asking, "why?" Here are two places I found my answer:

• Get Interview Feedback - Artbistro.com: it's Mediabistro.com, but for artists!

• Ask a Manager blog: I love this site!!! It answers all the questions I've wanted to ask and should really know the answer to, in a great tone that I like. I'm sure the woman who writes it is a good manager (and if she's hiring, I'm here - call me :o )
