Mariotti quits Sun-Times, says sports journalism is "a website business"
Chicago Tribune Chicago Sun-TimesSports columnist Jay Mariotti says he decided to quit after 17 years at the Sun-Times because it became clear while in China that sports journalism has become "entirely a website business. There were not many newspapers there." He adds that most of the journalists covering the Games were "there writing for Web sites." Mariotti says he's talking with "a lot of websites" and adds that the future of his business "sadly is not in newspapers." Reaction from Sun-Times readers. ~Romenesko*
