So, one of my best friends who also happens to be a former j-school junkie will now join me in posting to this blog. Why? - 1. Because I heart her.
- 2. Because there are so many things going on in the media industry all the time and I want to cover them better.
- 3. Plus, I don't have the time or energy to always write, so I need some help. That's what friends are for. And I have a pretty awesome one (see some of her stats below).
- Finally, because like me, Brittaney (my friend) is a recent college graduate looking for a j-o-b. But unlike me, she is looking for one (I think) on the editorial side of publishing. So blogging, being up on the latest multimedia tools for journalists and getting her name out there for freelance opps are even more important to her than they are to me.
(For the record though: I'm still looking for a j-o-b on the business side of publishing. Please contact if you know of any openings :o )
So, without further ado, welcome The Pura Vida Poet to the new and soon-to-be improved "Lives of (Aspiring) Media Mavens":
- Former Editorial Intern turned Freelancer for Southern Distinction Magazine
- Former Editorial Intern for New South Publishing
- Former Marketing Intern at Global Anesthesia
- Managing Editor of 25 Magazine - a Magazine Publishers of America project
